Notes, tasks, and appointments must be captured quickly and without friction. Keeping any of these items in your mind risks forgetting, but even remembering an item clutters your memory. This capture should require minimal information, just as much as would be difficult to recall later. This often mean that the snippet goes into an Inbox—a category of new and unrefined captures. Then, at a later time, the captured snippet should be sorted into a note taking application, a task list, or a calendar, and any remaining data which is worth collecting, like due dates, should be included.
