Telegraph

When a User Interface Control conveys to the User the result of performing some action, this is referred to as telegraphing.

A buttons label Telegraphs what will happen if the User were to click the button. More extravagant solutions might be used for more complex results. The ultimate fallback option for a complex result that is difficult to Telegraph, however, is always a confirmation modal.
